Hi, I have been trying to build a simple cupboard and have experimented with a number of door opening scripts which work nice but I do not understand how to link the door to the rest of the cupboard without making the whole cupboard turn when I click on the door. I understand what a root prim is but I'm not clear about parent and child prims. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks.

Essentially, (as far as I know) a "parent" prim is just a root prim. A child prim is any prim linked to the root prim.
I seem to recall some posts several months ago dealing with linked rotations. I put together a set of scripts to deal with linked doors. If you are interested in more info, please IM me here or in SL.

Thanks Renee, I did actually use this script but I made this mistake of making a hinge. Read the notes again and got it working like a treat. Thanks.
