Best Combat hit meter?

I was curious what everyones preference is on damage meters (DCS,CCS,GM,CIS etc etc..). Reason being I own a sim which combat will be performed on but don't want a lagmonster sim from technical meter scripts and also don't want a bunch of typing above the heads flying around like something out of TRON, but something that you ofcourse fall and die or it shows you as dead so others know. Something simple yet effective. I been playing with the Linden Damage System but it isn't good with all weapons it seams. Any help is appreciated. A explanation of the difference in meters would be even greater so I can better determine which system I want to use for my sim. Thanks
