This one gets the location vector, feeds it to llMoveToTarget with that odd fancy counterintuitive difficult to understand whatzit variable thingamabobber doodad set at 0.5 like it is in everything else this one sees and nothing happens. The target is within speaking distance, and llMoveToTarget has failed to activate pretty consistently in spite this one's best efforts to kick it off.

This one does the llMoveToTarget in the script in the attachment and this one can still move around and stuff. This one has noticed that the huggers { which use llMoveToTarget } lock this one in place.

What's going on? Why isn't it working?

The WIKI's, as always, are absolutely vague on things like this and don't appear to provide all the details on how to use stuff. Perhaps this is another case where the LSL WIKI kinda' sorta' overlooked some little itty bitty tidbit that everyone here takes for granted.

They included all the information except one small detail.

llMoveToTarget must be in the ROOT PRIM.

Absolute genius, guys. Forgetting small details like that, it's no wonder you guys can't sort out the binary data structures this one uses.

Any movement of a link_set always takes place in the root prim.

Also, when using llMoveToTarget in an attachment, you must detach and re-attach the object each time the script containing the llMoveToTarget() call is recompiled. Wonderful, huh?
