Hey guys,
I've got a couple of questions before I go off and buy some $3000L Television. What I'm tyring to do is get to view youtube video's in-world, without having to constantly copy/paste the url. I got this idea because I walked into a shop (which I naturally forgot to get a LM to) and saw them advertising YouTube and Flickr etc...
I picked up the FreeView TV and noticed while it has a great menu based system, its very limited and quite a few of the links are dead, but at the same time I'm unable to view anything but what they have in their "TV Guide". So if anyone knows where I could find it or if its even possible, please let me know ^_^
Thanks for your help guys!

There are various YouTube TV's... I got $1L one that works fine... http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=736068You can save your YouTube URL into a note card then it creates a button in the Menu when you touch the screen. Various other options. There is other more advanced versions from $400L plus. EDIT: Just a note, the comments left are very negative, however I had no problems with it at all. All the note cards are modifiable, the TV is clickable and works just fine. I spend hours last night watching YouTubes on it with friends. I can only assume the comment posters are competitors trying to sell the same thing for a lot more money.

Thanks for that link, Jodina. It works for me as well although I can see a few issues with it. If you don't have the media type set to Movie in the land settings (and don't realize it's necessary or are for some reason unable to change it) then it can't play the videos. Also, editing the notecards requires you to manually reset the script via a command instead of automatically detecting the change and resetting itself. But that's a minor complaint really, especially considering it was only 1L.

Thank you very much for your post. I'll head off and pick it up now, you're a life saver!!
edit: Ok, just picked it up, gotta say for 1L I'm pretty darn impressed. Even came with an instruction card which most freebies dont. Thank you again!!

Hmm...question: Is it possible to get movies to play with this? I was at one shop and they had the Stargate movie playing. I'm guessing this one will only play video's that start automatically so some websites that stream movies are out of the question, but I'm pretty clueless here as you can tell

There are others that will play other movies as long as they can play in Quicktime. IF you want to watch a regular movie and know the URL you can just use your media settings in About Land window and set a texture to play the movie. Then put the texture on something and it should play the movie I think.

Hi Tovya, it is also possible to script the stream to an avatar only. The media tab in the land becomes irrelevant. I'm not near my home system or I would post the details, but it is possible to do. Once home I'll try and find the scripts I played with 5 months ago. They may do the job for you too. In the case of streaming media for an avatar specifically, it is possible to have different streams to different people on the same parcel.
