Im not gonna say I know a whole lot about particles still but I know enough. But my only problem now is, I got a build in mind, but within it I need several streams of particles to represent 'connections' to the floaty bits. Now I kind of understand how the particle targeting works but Im lost as to how to have a particle emitter target a specific object. Ive looked and asked everywhere but unfortunately no body seems to know. Anyone have any ideas at all?

give your objects unique names and use short sensors to detect their position/key.

then target that position/key in your particle script

No need to determine the position just set PSYS_SRC_TARGET_KEY to your target objects key (of course if you don't know that key you will need to determine it by some means)

You can find a nice example script at the Particle Lab at Teal.

One way is to listen on a private channel for "target me" messages sent by the target objects, and obtain their keys from the listen() event generated.
