Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me create the controlling scripts for a cliff diving experience I have wanted to create some time now. Basically I want an avatar to stand on a cliff top and click through a menu his or her diving options much like the dive scripts do currently in SL. However, to fully understand my intention let me descibe the cliff for a moment. I had in mind linking several prims together to create a cliff face and top from which to launch the avatar in a dive, and then to have at least two prims at the bottom simulating water and rocks (sculpted would be a dream but not possible as I know nothing about creating them).
Now as we know timing is everything in RL with cliff diving, and in SL I wish to make it the same. I am intending for the water textured prims to imitate low and high water flows (animated textures with deeper blue for simulated depth) and for the rock prims under those to be phantom during the 'high water' and solid or normal during 'low water'. The idea is to make this a random thing with animations that are funny and entertaining too. For example during a badly timed dive, the av will of course 'splat' on the rocks below (non-fatal preferably - I think the scripts can provide lsl to ensure the av does not have to reboot during such a dive?).
Anyone feel like giving this lsl noob a hand with the basic scripts? Its not a product that will sell at first, but rather a 'experience' I wish to put on my sims in Bishara Resorts (Bishara Island, Bahati Island, Mandhari Island and Majini Island). But if you wish to recoup some funds I will pay for any work directly.
