I have a scripted to object that plays a sound when attached. Unfortunately, and also unpredictably and at random intervals, the sound will repeat itself after attachement has completed. In my attempts to resolve this issue I have tried:
- Inserting Say commands immediately following the PlaySound command. I have determined that the code is only executed once, but I still hear the sounds playing.
- Standing around other people when the sound plays. They only hear it the first time, not the second, so only I am hearing the subsequent phantom sounds.
It's possible that it's a problem with my client or my system, but I don't have the issue with other objects. Has anybody run into this problem or found a solution for it?

I had, or rather the person I built a particular script for had, the same problem a while ago. It drove us both insane because although he's not a scripter in world he followed the debugging well enough to agree the sound only triggered once.
I seem to recall that a relog sorted it for him too, and we've still no idea - sound systems are so weird between machines we put it down to that in the end.

I've not suffered from this problem yet. But just an idea! - rather than using llPlaySound(). Try using llTriggerSound() instead.

Yes and I would do the same, only I have other objects that make similar on-rez sounds but I never experience this problem with them. From: Starax Statosky I've not suffered from this problem yet.
