Hi, I have been looking aroung for a while for a vehicle teleporter script. I want to make a small vehicule cube that I can teleport to destination on my land. A sort of command post I can move around fast and easy.
Also can you make an object offer teleport to someone? The idea would be to allow my friend to teleport directly inside my cube easy.
Thanks
Nic

You can use a normal teleporter script to move your cube anywhere within the same region. I'm sure if you search the forum for "teleporter" you'll find something.
Objects cannot offer teleports. They can however, read a LandMark and open it on the map for someone. I think only if the object and avatar are in the same region but I'm not sure.

There are generally 2 main types of TP scripts. One is based on the sit hack and the other on warpos. With those based on the sit hack, you sit on the teleporter and it launches you to your new position withing 300 m on any of the axes. There is no object movement involved. I sounds like that is not what you want. The warpos based teleporters actually move an object that you sit on, and then return it back to the original position. They allow a longer range but get in trouble when trying to cross banned properties. If you stay on your own property like you say, you should be ok. Warpos happens pretty quickly, but you could probably slow it down, and some of the earlier versions were much slower. Under the hood, they used llSetPos rather than llSetPrimitiveParams. Do a search in this forum for warpos. There are a number of scripts out there.

with the teleporter script of your choice you can use this instead of WarpPos: target = <110.0,110.0,500.0; do { llSetStatus(STATUS_PHANTOM , TRUE); llSetPos( target ); } while ( llVecDist( llGetRootPosition(), target ) > 0.01 ); llSetStatus(STATUS_PHYSICS, FALSE);
You will then have physical movement and can see around as you move. It will stop working thou if you cross no-script land.

As a builder I don't understand script that much but this info is making quite a few things more clear. I think I'm on my way to make something out of this, I'll share this with my scripter friend and will let you know how that turns out.
Take care all
