Is there any way to detect mouse position on an object? If you have a flat cube can you find the position of the mouse on it?

No.
If you let us know the intended application, though, there may be some other way of achieving it.

I was just wanting to be able to separate one prim by using position of touch. I wanted to make a sales terminal that was only 1 prim that you just touched different parts and the unit detected where you clicked and used it accordingly. Thanks

From: Alexio Gable I was just wanting to be able to separate one prim by using position of touch. I wanted to make a sales terminal that was only 1 prim that you just touched different parts and the unit detected where you clicked and used it accordingly. Thanks I suppose you could, but it'd require camera permissions, and they'd need to be in mouselook... doesn't seem usable for your purpose though now if you use multiple prims (for each button) that's easy enough, just use llDetectedLinkNumber. (yes I know the point is to avoid using extra prims, but it's the only physical alternative I can think of) now you could just move it all onto a dialog.... lots of buttons, only one prim...
