Is there an external script syntax checker? (e.g. Eclipse plugin?)

Hi,

Wondering if there is there an external script syntax checker available?

e.g. an eclipse plugin perhaps?

That is, where you can develop scripts off line (e.g. where there is no network connectivity) but you can still at least compile/syntax check them as you develop.
