Is it possible to add an item to the pie menu? There are so many empty spaces at times and it would be great.
If not, is it possible to use the sit or touch menu items for other purposes? I know you can rename them but if you click the renamed “sit” menu item will the avatar still try and sit on the object or will an even be raised in the script?
How do people handle situations where an object needs default “Touch” functionality but some sort of Setup functionality is still needed? I suppose two buttons could be added to the object, one for use and one for setup but really adding an item to the Pie menu named Setup would be best.
Thanks for any ideas or advice.

Hey man. You can't add extra buttons to the pie menu, but you can replace the text on 1 of them. http://lslwiki.org/index.php/LlSetTouchText

Thanks for any ideas or advice. Sorry but you cant add buttons to the pie menu. If you rename sit to setup you av would still sit on the object and that would raise a changed event. What you could then do is perform your setup actions. Not ideal but useable. You can override the sit animation or unseat them immediately if preferred. A more normal method is to provide different menu functionality via the touch depending upon who touches. If its the owner then they get a menu with a setup option, if its a user they get the standard menu.

Thanks for the advice. I like the idea of showing a setup menu option when the owner clicks an item. I think I'll give that a go. The big L's must have thought about the ability to add items to the Pie menu. I wonder why it was never implemented.

Pie menu access

But some objects you run across have other functions in their pies-- like when you right-click on a vehicle and the pie menu has an option named "drive." How was that made?

as mentioned above - by changing either the 'touch' or 'sit' menu selection to something else.
