Particle problems since 1.13 update

I've noticed in a particle chain I created, that since the last update, the particle stream is full of holes. It used to be a very steady stream of paricles, but now it seems to only fire off particles when it feels like it, and others watching at the same time as me see the same problem.

Has anyone else noticed this problem? Has something been changed in the particle system?

There were "improvements" made to the rendering system. I think it's become more willing to skip generating new particles in order to keep the frame rate up.

Try a shorter draw distance value. It seems to make a rather drastic difference.

I think what we're seeing is an adjustment to those rules which is including emitters that aren't being seen in the tally.

Of course... with a shorter draw distance maybe the frame rate is high enough to render more particles too. Hard to tell.
