I was wondering if there was a script to make a piece of cloth move--something like a curtain blowing near an open window? I did see a thread about flags, but no scripting included.
Thanks so much!

Cloth simulations that aren't bound to avatars are... well, a touch difficult with the tools we have in hand. The most common workaround thusfar has been particle "cloth" effects, but even then it doesn't look too good in general. Plus they're a tad laggy, usually.
If you ask me in-world, though, I can give you a sample. It just... well, doesn't lend itself easily to learning without being set up in real time.
There are, however, other ways to do this - like spinning a cone for a kite or setting up several frames of a texture animation in a clever way, but no... tried-and-true cloth simulations are something we don't really have access to (yet).

Thanks, Jeffrey. I had seen the particle flag, and understand what you mean. Found a flag at an airport in game, think I will persue that.
Leave it to me--a non scripter to try to do dthe near impossible!

I used, a long time ago, to have a curtain that swayed and appeared to bell a tiny amount, like a light curtian near a window. It was a clever texture anim I think. I will have a look and see if I've still got it.

Robin, I think you got my flag after posting this, right? I hope it was helpful.
I recently released, for free, a flag that pretends to sway and billow in the wind. It's pretty convincing, but it's a combination of a hinge joint and some clever alpha manipulations. If anyone else is interested, you can find a copy (open source) in YadNi's junkyard as the featured freebie, or you can IM me and I'll send you a copy.

I was always inder the assumption that cloths in the wind were always done by clever texture animations.

Did Yadni's Junk Yard move? It used to be in Crescent... (it's not there any more) I own that land now.
