Real basic query here as I'm still playing with prims & textures and learning about scripting is some way off.
Does anyone know if it's possible to edit the basic library texture animation script to slow down the rate of movement? I'm building a river to flow continous with the LL water which borders my land and have produced a reasonable facsimile of the texture. However the rate of flow is way too fast and changing the texture repeats means the ripples no longer match for size.

I seem to remember that the last number (,0.5 or the like...) controls the *speed* of that function. Try increasing or decreasing that value (eg. ,1.5)...and see if that changes the texture scrolling.
