This might be a n00b question or so but here goes. I want to make a switch that can turn on a light on the other side of the sims. I try using llShout(0,"";); but that does not do the trick. Please help me :)

Thanks you for read and helping.

llShout only reaches 100 meters. You may have to use a "repeater" prim. Essentialy it would listen on the same channel, then llShout the same command.

Caveats: Two repeaters close to one another will start repeating the command at one another. An infinite loop. You have to consider ways to avoid this if you ever have more than one repeater. (i.e. repeater one only listens to "switch", repeater two only listens to repeater one, light only listens to repeater two...)

If I wanted to turn off and on a light from the other side of the sim I would use email. With email you could turn on the light from anywhere in SL.

Look in the wiki at the communications page, and the email page.

Try Clapping your hands together--twice.

Sorry, just couldn't resist...
