How would i go about learning how to script? Like what programs should i use, and where could i be taght it, things like that

How would i go about learning how to script? Like what programs should i use, and where could i be taght it, things like that All you need is that wiki, the built-in LSL tools and perhaps... http://www.bawls.com/data/wallpaper/bawls_wallpaper40.jpg ... if you wanna be hardcore.
