Hello,
Does anyone know a script could work on unlinkable parts of an object? Therefore whenever to rez the object, I m able to drag out the whole thing without linking them again!
The building I m working on is definitely bigger than 40mx40mx40m, although some parts of it are less than 40m, It kept saying prims too far apart, not able to link!

an idea

when you have something that's spread out larger than your normal "linking" distance, this is a nice simple workaround.
select EVERYTHING in the object, absolutely everything, Shift-Select them all, and then,
here's the good part
hold down
Shift-Control
Grab the little white "handles" and
Drag the whole buncha prims to a smaller size
(it's gonna shrink proportionally, you'll be so happy you'll scream, trust me)
DONT DE-SELECT until you then hit
Control - L
and link the whole thing!
Ok, now you have the entire project linked and in a pocketable size.
----Please note, when you have it all large again, if you de-link, you gotta go through the same process again, so be careful and work in a smaller size.
I tend to use 1m - 10m scale to keep it simple, that way I can work easily in the linkable size.
Good luck!

Madame Maracas, I'm not sure if you have experienced this but I know when I have done this before and pick it up it rezes back Unlinked, so you have to do this every time to rez it(I normally keep a small copy in Inventory so that it will rez linked then I super size it)... at least that has been my experience thus far, also if you are building a huge ship keep in mind you not only have to worry about the distance but number of prims

odd...

I've not had that difficulty.
I have used this technique a number of times on buildings, never vehicles, so no physics were involved.
If' that makes a difference, please pardon my ignorance.
Also, I've found that the command under TOOLS for selecting only my objects helps with the steps in this process.
So I guess even if you do need to re-do the steps, at least it's possible.
Wishing you luck!

So long as the thing falls within the bounds of normal linking behavior when linked, it should not be a problem. There was a bit of a bug not too long ago around something similar to what Madame Maracas mentioned, which would have allowed the whole sucker to be then scaled back to the original size while linked. That bug has been squashed as far as I know. However. If all you're looking to do, Kenzie, is to keep a copy of your project for the future, you can simply select the entire thing and take it with you, regardless of whether or not it's been linked. This is a bit of a secret that doesn't seem to get around well. If, however, you're looking to get the thing to link and move with a script when it's done, that'll be a bit harder. I would suggest linking it into 25-30 prim chunks and using a variant of the swarm script should you wish to achieve that.
