I'm having problems working with the float numbers in the vectors I'm using for a llSetPos call.
They keep getting screwed up, and relative child prim positions are ending up as <0.0008,0.0005,0.0005> or some other seemingly random x.0000x numbers, no matter how many times I try to fix them.
How do I fix this problem, since my scripts are looking for exact numbers?

run away screaming. There is no solution, just hacks. This is one of the sources of prim drift (the other is from Euler <-> Quaternion convetsions).
