Animation Contest -- Need Syncronized Movements

I've decided to enter the animation contest and require a modifiable dance pyramid to synchronize several avatars to a single animation. Is there open and modifiable code available to create my own dance pyramid for synchronized movements among several AVs?

Any help would be much appreciated. I'm also looking for extras to participate. If you help me with the script, you can be a part of the movie. :)

Well I don't know about open source, but the original 'dance pyramids' were mine. Due to the strange way LL has chosen to implement custom animations, it's required a complete rewrite from the ground up for version II. I'm nearing completion, but since it's a complete rewrite, I've taken the opportunity to add some other features and stuff.

The premise is the same, it allows you to put together sequences of synchronized movements, and you can drop in any custom animation to use.

However, as I say, it's not complete yet, so it kinda depends when you want one by - and whether you are interested in a commercial product, I guess, since you specified 'open source'.

That sounds perfect!

What I meant by open is that I need something whose code I could modify. The reason is, that I'll need everyone synchronized with the exception of one character whose animation will be almost identical but slightly different. If this isn't possible, I'd settle for identical movements.

Additionally, I wanted to add hooks in the code where I can stop and restart the animation by voice command for the sake of making a movie for the animation contest. I'd be will to enter into a nondisclosure agreement and delete the item and source upon completion.

I'd need a functional scripted object by the end of this weekend. I hope to have outfits, animations, and this supporting code done by Sunday night. That way I can film the event during the week and submit it after editing the next weekend.

Hey Ulrika, havent heard from you lately, are we still going to do that XML RPC project? I have a multiuser animation script prototype... it wasnt meant as a replacement or competitor for Kris's dance machine but rather as an animation vending machine that let customers try before they buy.
It's 99% complete... I just need to migrate it to a client/server model cause silly old me forgot that a single script cant take permissions from multiple people... something that really ought to be changed IMHO :(

Just letting you know that me and Chris have coded a synchronized animation thingy, if youre still interested... Open Source and Free (as in liberty and as in beer) :)
It is... a bit short on the feature side LOL. It does the job though, and can be easily extended tomorrow once I have gotten some llSleep ;)

Why do people say beer is free? I've always found it rather expensive.

Eggy, that would be great! That's precisely what I need for the animation contest. I'll contact you in SL by IM. :)

As for the XML-RPC project, thanks to a close friend, I've secured space on a linux server. This weekend we put up a webpage and a streaming ogg-vorbis server. The webpage will be the cornerstone of the service I have in mind. I think it will provide users with a service that will enhance collaboration! I'll spill the beans later online.

Currently, I'm working on the animation contest and will transition back to the XML-RPC project after I submit the animation after the 15th of July. *whew*
