Moving your Server and keeping your key

Well I just discovered something I didn't know before - if you have a server and want to move it to a new sim and keep its key, you can just wear it from the ground and drop it at your destination and it will keep its original key. As long as it doesn't wind up in your inventory, it will work. What really surprised me is that the object will survive teleports without changing key. This is a great solution to a problem I *thought* I had but I guess I'm a little behind the times with these changes :)

So thought I'd pass that along to any other space cadets as a very cool and easy way to help your customers understand how to move their servers for those of you that write client/server networked systems. Steal my instructions:

1) Pick up the server by right clicking, More, Wear. It will attach to your hand.
2) Fly or teleport to your destination.
3) Right click on the server, Drop. DO NOT DETACH!
Your server will continute functioning just fine.

Yup. Using the Wear/Drop method always worked by flying to the other point, but before PTP teleporting attachments would get new keys on TP, so it'd only work between two points you could fly to. But now with Point To Point teleporting keys of attachments don't change, so you can go anywhere with it. :)
