invoking touch event on a prim

Can a prim be scripted to invoke a touch event on another on my behalf?

Or can I wear something that will click on a prim near me on my behalf while I am away from the keyboard? I need to click on a prim every 20 minutes (think LOST -- the tv series)

I have found syntax for collisions etc but I have not found anything that will invoke the touch handlers in another scripted object.
