Hi. When I build a scripted object I can set scripts to not running fine. When someone buys the vehicle the 'Set Scripts to not Running in Selection' is greyed out. This is not good because I want them to be able to stop the scripts to help in the battle against lag.

Any idea why this is and what can be done about it?

Hey Hans, you may wish to toggle the script on and off for them via some sort of simple scripted interface. See also, http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlSetScriptState

The customer can not reset or compile a script that is set at no mod. So as pointed out you have to script in a reset command.

Many Thanks

Thanks for that guys. It works like a dream. I used that to allow users to switch off the main scripts in the catamaran and added an extra small script to the root to listen for an awake command to wake up all the scripts again.

One can reset scripts which are no mod in a prim which _isn't_ no mod, if I recall correctly.

One can also open the item, take the scripts out, then put them into an item which is mod. I was dealing with this recently. If it is essential that a script not be reset then you need to put some sort of check in on state_entry() which checks the owner.

You will want to use on_rez() for that as state_entry is not neccessarily executed when one rezzes an object.

Not if you're checking for an unauthorised reset, you won't.
