I'm trying to figure out how to override the actual public channel output. Any clues?

I guess you can't. You can only "punish" someone with shouting that they bypassed the gag. Have the victim speak on a different channel and let the gag perform the "translation" to gagged babbling.

You become a Linden and enter into God Mode. Either that or you buy an island or become an estate manager and use the estate tools, which will only work on that estate.

Other then that, if it could be done then it is highly doubtfull that it would be posted here. Your "gag" easily translates into someone elses "griefing" tool.

dunno about overiding it but there are at least 2 ways to fake it...

the easiest is a dialog, if the "victim" clicks it, whatever was on the button gets said (24 character max)... requires "victim" approval

the other method is my little secret, (and easy to detect besides), but I won't release it public for griefing concerns
... it doesn't require victim approval
(and no it doesn't override anything)

Isn't the OP asking to speak on the grid wide blue pop down window?
Or are you asking to mimic another avatar?
