Ok, I am still new enough to sl where I am getting all this down. Is there a way to get the position of object with a certain key without having to detect them? This would be extremely usefull. Thanks.

Only by having the object repeatedly say its position on a private channel:
llSay(20,(string)llGetPos());
...and then using a listen event in a tracking object.
That's definitely possibly the only way. Maybe...

You could cheat and use llKey2Name() if both prims are in the same sim. The first prim would have to change its name to be its position periodically though. A sensor might be easier and more useful.
