I find that a lot of scripts involving light, etc. just don't work until you have teleported away and back, or logged out, logged back in. If they really don't work, and are just decorative (then shame on the lazy designer I say), but there are also separate qualities a light can have -- the bulbs or fixtures can "glow" as you say, or they can cast light on other things, or both. The latter takes 2 seconds to fix, the former is a little trickier, but can still be done. I have a light bulb script I haven't tried out yet. If they are gas lamps I have a flame you can stick on there that I know works. It's probably easiest to fix it for you if I could see it. Feel free to IM me in world after about 7 pm SL (Pacific) time if you want me to try my hand at changing your light bulbs. -Avion

From: Ashe1 Writer ... they do not have a light feature(script?) where they glow at night. Depending how specifically the "at night" bit is meant, this may not take any scripting at all. Just by editing the individual light prim (Edit Linked Objects checked, assuming the lights are linked to the house, then select just the light prim), you can change its Texture to "Full Bright" and it will appear to glow, day or night--much more noticeably at night. And/or you can select the Feature "Light" and play around with brightness and color of the light that the prim *emits*--which will cast light on other objects and avatars in the vicinity, for those clients with the appropriate preferences (Edit | Preferences | Graphics Detail | Lighting Detail: Nearby local lights). Much fun can be had with lighting. A script can switch on lights (either the full-bright or light-emitting kind) by command or in response to the in-world day/night cycle. Some lights (especially spotlights) have phantom prim "beams" with translucent textures that indicate how the light is directed. Some walls have "baked" lighting as part of the texture, where the light would illuminate the surface. Observing how lighting is handled in-world sometimes reveals real creativity by the builders.

true there is a setting in preferences called "local lights" this must be checked for such lights to work.

Thanks everyone for the advice--it was easier than I thought. I did what Qie said and it worked!!! Also, Avion, thanx for the offer to come out. That was very generous of you. Ashe
