I'm having trouble finding the necessary information I need to write scripts to manipulate my avatar. Basically, what I'm starting with is trying to override the 'normal' input for movement (which I know how to do for other objects) and then move my avatar through my own script. (essentially making a script to do what the game already does for me, but just to begin with.) Suggestions, direction, samples? Thanks

There is no function to manipulate avatars. Avatar's manipulation is dealt with animations. The script can just call animations.

What you are talking about is an animation override, AO for short. You can pick up several free open source ones a YadNi's, I like the ZHAO myself.

I know that scripts can actually take over avatar movement, because I have seen it done. I think llTakeControls is what you need to read up on.
