Recomended scripts for Door and sit animations

I have been doing some building. I have also started studying scripting. For me, one good way to get some scripting experience is to start with some well written scripts and actually try to use them and modify them as needed.

As a novice builder, there is, of course, a need to use scripts for certain things. One is a door opener. I would also like to find a script that would let me put sit poses directly in furniture or scripts that might be most suitable to modify for this purpose (ie - eliminate pose balls).

Could anyone recommend good scripts to look at for either of these functions, either from the library or from some other source if there are other sources out there. I have found, for instance, several door opening scripts. Is there a best one?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Without seeing the ones you've got it's hard to say.

But since you're using them to learn... take them apart so you understand what they're doing and how and judge for yourself.

Even for something like a door script there are a number of good approaches that all work reliably and efficiently. Why did the scripters use the different ways if they're that different? Some of it might be style, some will have extra twiddles (locking for example) but it's actually a good learning exerice comparing the different scripts.
