Is there a way to get the dimple values from a non-sphere using a script?

i don't think there is, since that would be a tortured prim, and lsl doesn't recognize torture params as far as i know.

but if you rez a torus, ring, or tube, and profile cut it, and then change to a cylinder, cube, or prism, it has the same effects as dimpling a sphere and then changing the prim type.

probably didn't need that info, but yeah, lol

hehe, you are just confirming my suspicions. I want to display the values of a prim, even if it is tortured. It appears that if I change the prim to a sphere, I have to provide the dimple values thus wiping out what I was seeking.

Not to the best of my knowledge, because LSL will just think it's whatever type it's been turned into.

there's a reason that the mirror-scripts can't flip flip prim torture.
