I need to know how to send a key from one object to another, i tried using lldetectedOwner in variosu ways but it didnt help. i thought that i could change the script name to the string and have the object read it off the other..anyone think that would work? realyl nto sure on how to do this..but it needs to work so only the owners object can communicate with the other object..

Depends on what you want to do precisely.

llSay() should work. Keys and Strings are pretty interchangeable...
llMessageLinked() passes keys if suitable.

I guess all the email options should work too.

You can establish and share lists of owners on notecards or similar and compare that way as well, just work up the 'authorised user' script and put the names onto the notecard, or by other sorts of list manipulation if you prefer. That would work for names or keys...

not sure exactly what you're asking but if the same person owns both objects you might be able to use llGetOwner() to check.

Are you trying to communicate the object's key to another object? Are the two part of the same object (linked) or separate objects (unlinked)?

Edit: Cut that out, Willow, you're making my teeth hurt. ;)
