I dont really want to do this - It was brought up in another thread.

Is it possible to make Avatar perform an animation without asking them the standard querry?

For example could you force someone to hug you without being able to say no?

No.

Now...if someone is wearing an attachment that has permission to animate them, then yes. But if it is a random person, not wearing an animation attachment...no.

a lot of collars... for example, take animate permissions.. and have a full library of available animations (including hugs). Luckily, most quality collars only accept "orders" from people that have been added to the "owner" list.

this thread is not complete without mention of the fact that you can invoke animations upon an av without an express request for animation persmissions from an object they sit upon.

Well you still have to request the permissions but they are granted automatically without the displaying of a dialog box.

And...since...technically...sitting is an attachment (except that it attaches the avatar to the object being sat on--which is interesting)...the implicit agreement to be animated makes sense.

Actually, it is possible. Something like that happened to me once. Some jerk threw something at me, a sound file (whispering 'come to me') was played, and next thing I know my avie is walking right into this guy's arms without my control.

I don't know if more complex animations are also possible.

That's not an animation, that's an object that applies a force to your avatar. The walking bit just happens naturally when SL detects your avatar moving along the ground.
