I'm making a 3D scan and display thing that tracks Avs.

The Avs have attachments so it's not sensor based.

I've got value 1/96 for the largest sensor, but I need to know what scale down would be say

0-1000 height and a full sims X, Y.

Does anyone know how you work out this calulation?

How big is a sim in Length?

Thanks

A sim is 256 x 256

So assuning the object reports it's position within the sim in meters,

Just divide the x and y values by 256 and multiply by the size of the display object.

I don't know what you mean by "I've got value 1/96 for the largest sensor", if it's an attachment llGetPos() will return a vector where the x and y are 0.0 - 255.0 and the z is whatever their altitude is.

In any case, I've given you a full answer in your other thread on this subject.

Sorry sorted it out now, I was being dumb, I just flew to the end of a sim to see the size.
