Hi, I have been wondering how to make furniture that when you sit on it, it changes the pose/posture of your avie. I am absolutely clueless when it comes to scripts and need some type of simple easy to use script that will allow me to change the pose of the person sitting. I am not really looking for a script that has the position of avatar and all, because i would like to have it let anyone sit wherever they want, like a usual object, only changing the pose when they sit. Could anyone help me with this? Or if anyone could possibly help me with making the scripts for the furniture in-game, i would be willing to pay. Tys

i have a complete kit you can buy at Reverie in Chartreuse that includes scripts and redistributable animations and an extensive tutorial (all mod/copy/transferrable) if you want to buy something quick.
Otherwise, you would just be using llSitTarget() and llStartAnimation() function calls if you wanted to make it from scratch... i don't know how much information you need/want, though.

I sell a similar product. But my product is script only. I sell the scrip in 3 flavors. Home use, sells use, all right script. The home use vertion is some thing like 100 linden. aposed to the 1000 L Water Rogers changes. It support multiple animations. The sitting user can rotate to what ever animation they wish to use. My script plays one animation at a time. While Water Rogers script plays all animations in inventory at the same time. If your an advanced user using multipel animations at ones allows for typing, but still retaining the proper pose his would be the way to go.

From: Kurt Zidane The home use vertion is some thing like 100 linden. aposed to the 1000 L Water Rogers changes. btw, i do offer these scripts free of charge... it's actually the animations with full permissions (resell rights etc) is why it's expensive. The package is basically geared towards peoples who don't know how (or want) to do custom animated poses - but love to make furniture without the crappy default sitting poses. Thanks kurt for mentioning, btw! I'll have to check yours out sometime - i've been meaning to update, just haven't had the time. --Water

Well when I went to check out your script with a friend. (I had them compare my script with mine) We could only find the 1000L vertion.
but sure i'd be happy to talk to some one else about animation scripting. There only seems to be a hand full of people in game making animation scripts. Perhaps you'd be intrested in working on the open sources animation braclet.

Well, you can count me in on the animation scripting side of the house. AFAICT, Animations are *the* precious resource in SL. Everything else is relatively easy to do for yourself. Besides, I *hate* the default body language in SL. Personally, I have a number of hacks to the Franimation overrider planned, once I get finished with a couple of autonomous animal and vehicle projects that have been dropped in my lap. - C

I hope we get a chance to talk in game. My script is pretty good at navigate inventory of animations. skip, next, back, random, stop, start, extra. But I haven't started work on a function to start what ever default animation is currently being played.
