Re-rezzing whole builds

This idea has been bumping around in my head for a while. Seems possible, but just wanted to get some ideas from people that have done more rezzing than I have.

Basically, I'd like to rez or derez an entire build under script control. The idea is to have the build change on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The old build would delete itself and a new build would replace it under script control.

A related idea is to have a part of the build be interactive, so that a visitor could press something and cause a big piece of the build to re-rez into something different.

Just wondering about performance and bug-related issues such as ghosting.

Also wondering about implementation issues. For example, would I have to put a script in each object in the build?

What about trees? I don't think they can have scripts attached (bummer).

Has anyone implemented anything like this on a large scale (> 100 prims)?

Shack,

Please IM me in SL. I have something that does what you describe. It will handle up to 40 objects of any size and cover a large lot area.

Yeah, that's easy. Its the first thing I ever learned to script. There is a rez object command. So you make a prim, stick in all the different things you want to rezz like, a house, an event area, a garden, a biodome, whatever. And then you make a way to call the commands, either verbally or a panel that says what you want on a different channel when you click a button. Then you script the prim to listen and rezz that item. Also, to get rid of the other item you have to use llDie(). Put it in all the objects and set it to go off either when a certain thing is said or on a timer or both. Okay, that was probably confusing, but its real easy to do. Also, you can't rezz no-copy objects, well you can but once you kill them, they are gone forever.
