Is it possible to hard-code extended characters? For example, ¿ ñ í The editor displays them with no problem, but the compiler chokes and gives me a syntax error. If not, is there any way to generate them within a script, or do I have to settle for reading them from a notecard?

You might look into the base-64 or the llUnescapeURL functions to convert encoded strings to their UTF-8 equivalent.
