Being new to scripting and attempting a rather difficult project as a starting point :-\ ( i know start small work ya way up but i just cant help myself lol)...
I have a pivot point between 2 objects (hinge)... the trouble is I need these first 2 prims to rotate but leave the other prims where they need to be...
for example a linked door to the house...... touch door, door opens house does not move with it.
is this even possible? if so please help i'll even pay for the information im that desperate and frustrated LOL

Yep, just make sure that door is not primary, if it is primary then the whole house will move..

I assume you using standard door script that just rotates the one prim?

If does not work, just by making it NOT the primary prim in the link set, IM me Keywe and will get it working for ya.. :)

Actually the last prim you add to a linked object is the root prim (or primary as you've called it).

Easiest way to check is to click on edit the whole object and the root prim is highlighted yellow the rest in a sort of grey-blue if you have the normal options on.
