Hey there,
I've enabled a couple of vehicles i've developed with the TCS combat script, but my question now is just where can you find sims that use TCS. I've looked in groups, done searches and can find nothing.....does anyone know of anywhere, any groups that meet up?
I'm just curious as it seems a bit strange that these things aren't better known.....

You can use TCS in any sim really, you just have to have someone to play against, or give them a vehicle with TCS..but yeah, it works in every sim (minus the ones with no rezzing or scripting)

no i am aware of this, i was just wondering whether there was a more organised system of meeting up, so people could see new planes developed, organise combat days etc. It seems a bit of a waste for nothing like this to be in existence.
What do you think about something simple like putting together a TCS group, where people could join and be notified of gatherings and things. It could be a good way for TCS to grow, and for people to show off their latest toys.
Unless someone points out this has already been done i might get in touch with Cubey and see what he thinks.
I just think there is a lot more room for development and organisation on this.....basically more fun.
Any more ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Any more ideas would be greatly appreciated. It's been my understanding that the DCS combat system is currently the most prolific combat system out there, and I myself have been commissioned on several occasions to create weapons and vehicles to be compatible with other DCS items. It might be better worth your time/effort to look into scripting for DCS compatability.

DCS system

I think DCS is just for Avatars....could be wrong though. I think there is CCC which i think i've used in a vehicle before but it seems more recent planes seem to be drifting towards TCS.
I think the choice of combat system is arbitrary at this point, they are all pretty similar, however it is really just putting in place the processes for allowing different users (even using different combat systems) to meet up, show new developments, and improve each system, and of course fly, drive, sail along and have a little bit of fun causing chaos.
I think SL is a great platform for this, it's a little like going back to the days of the Atari, Amiga and even (clasps hands together in spiritual way) the Spectrum 48k, many limitations (in gaming terms), but a whole lot of fun getting round those limitations to create a game.
So perhaps the idea to set a group up is worthwhile; share ideas etc. hmmm thinking about it it would also be nice to put asside a little plot of land to have all the gaming systems on with some information about each, and links to groups, sims etc....
hmmm any more ideas?

I'm a little late with this response because I so rarely visit the forums now.
TCS can really be used anywhere. With the TCS scoreboard (also free), you can take a TCS battle grid-wide -- you don't have to stay within a single sim or even in the same area.
As for TCS combat groups, that would be great. I formed the SL Flying Corps group a while back for people to get in touch with other dogfight fans, so feel free to join that one and group IM people for a few dogfights if you like.
You may also want to chat with the owners of the Dogfight Atoll sim. I don't know if they standardize on TCS or CCC, but they have two sims set up for classic prop plane dogfighting.
Finally, I'm working on a little dogfight kiosk for Abbotts Aerodrome. You will be able to click a button to rez a little TCS biplane -- six colours to choose from.
