I want to know if it's possible to have a teleport script that automatically teleports a person who walks into a phantom prim to another spot on my land. I have a stargate that I want to set up so that when you walk through it it sends you to another structure I am going to build a couple thousand meters up in the air. I don't want a script where you have to right click and select to teleport. I just want it to send you there when you walk through it.

This isn't really possible right now, although with acomplex system of pushers you may be able to accomplish it. Teleportation right now relies on modified sit targets.

Thanks Keknehv,
I wasn't sure and thought it would be a cool idea. |

Yep and the sit target trick requires that the user intervene. ![]() You also might be able to rez a physical object around the person and then have the object carry the person to the destination. If you did it quickly enough, it might seem like a teleport. You could also texture the inside of the object black to make it seem as though the person is moving through a void. Particle effects could be added too. Seems like it's doable with some work and experimentation. _____________________

Is possible, actually - but you'd need an attachment or excellent understanding of Havok to pull it off.
I'll refer this to a friend of mine that might be willing to help. Tip: llMoveToTarget works with attachments. _____________________

Tip: llMoveToTarget works with attachments. If you use an attachment, you'll probably want to do something with animations, too. If an attachment picks somebody up off the ground, then the falling animation is triggered and it looks really goofy. ![]() _____________________

I'm just now starting to script, but I would imagine that there would be some amusing results if this script went wrong. During the testing phase, couldn't you end up catapulting somebody into the upper atmosphere?
Anyway, I've had similar thoughts, so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. ![]() Gydeon. |

My personal favorite was an error in writing a torque script. 11,000m and a split-second later... ![]() _____________________

Well, I was thinking 300 meters up but 11,000 would be kind of fun too!
