I have some ideas and Im new around here, and i am wondering about the possibility of setting up a "virtual Chuck E Cheese" type environment, where music is heard and it appears a band is playing on stage making the music. I guess the band would need to be animated somewhat, although i dont think it needs to be that detailed, just basic movement and simulated playing to give it a "live" feel
i also want a couple turtles dancing in a circle to go along with this project
I am wondering if it is possible, and how I would go about hiring the right person for the job
I assume it would need scripting, hence I posted here.
any help and/or examples of something like this would be greatly appreciated
I envision it would be sprite based like the virtual bartenders I see everywhere, but they dont move.
I would want at least some lifelike movement to simulate a live performance
but like chuck e cheese, it would only need to be limited to a few motions that would run in sequence or even better, at random
ty in advance for your help =)
(for those of you who have never been to a chuck e cheese or showbiz pizza, the main dining room has a stage. when the curtain goes up, there are animatronic characters that "perform" for the audience. yes it is a kids themed resturaunt, but the concept would work well here methinks)
and no i dont want to buy scripted instruments and hire people to "play" them on stage, not an option

Animatronics? Ahh... hm. My guess is you'll have to wait a bit on this unless you're looking for something *really* simplistic (or have days of time to kill). I'm working on a tool to make stuff like this easier, but work on it is on hold until July 19th - pretty burdened with the Game Dev contest for now. No promises, but hopefully that'll make this sort of thing easier. For now though, you should probably talk to RacerX Gullwing. His "style" of creation falls nicely in line with this.

do you have a large enough land to be able to do such a thing on? keep in mind, prob need at least 1024 meters of land so that you can handle it, as well as have enough Prims.
IM me in game and we can talk.

Most minimal would be flat prims with animated textures I think. They'd flick between anims a bit, but you could, if you find a texture maker with the right skills have something decent. Check out http://www.slboutique.com/index.php?sid=C33D395D745C550A&p=content&contentid=3 for a good tutorial.
