Hi, Can I ask what is probably a very simple question with a simple answer which I just cannot see I have a cone made using a hollow Cylinder prim, which is tapered to a point at one end. I need to place a texture on it and have it scroll along the vertical length of it (i.e top to bottom). I have seen the command that rotates a texture around the cylinder (llSetTextureAnim(ANIM_ON | SMOOTH | LOOP , ALL_SIDES, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1) but I cannot change the direction of the scrolling. So my question is: How can I do this? What is the best way to acheive what I want? Sorry to ask such a dumb question... Thanks Klaire

Does it work if you rotate the texture 90 degrees?

From: Sindy Tsure Does it work if you rotate the texture 90 degrees? That would not help as the texture has to move along the vertical length of the cone. Rotating the texture will make no difference to this. I need to change the direction the texture moves, not it's angle. I need the texture to move from the biggest part of the cone to the smallest. As shown above. I hope that helps. Klaire

From: Sindy Tsure Oh..
Did you try it and see that it didn't work? My texture can only go one way. it is desinged to be viewed on the horizontal plane and move in the vertical plane. Rotating it 90 degrees will shift it into the wrong planes and destory what I am trying to achive. Thing start trek next generation warp engine. The blue glowing lights that pluse from towards the main middle section. I need to make soemthing like that but as a texture to keep prim count down. Klaire

OK, so you have basically horizontal stripes? Then two steps. First, rotate the texture 90 degrees outside SL so that it is vertical stripes, and upload that sideways version. Then, set the texture rotation on the prim to 90 degrees to straighten the sideways texture back out (and make the animation work).

That mostly works it is now a texture error as I did not realise I would not be able to resize and duplicate the texture as you would normally. But I will correct that and upload a new version later today. Thanks for your help. I thought it was a scripting issue, not a texture issue. Klaire
