Can a llEmail to a linked object trigger an email() event in the calling object??? So can an email from PRIM A to PRIM B (where they are linked) trigger an email() event in PRIM A (where the email() event in prim A may be in a different script to the llEmail sending script)

This might explain what I think I'm seeing...but I'm still debugging for the moment.

acc to the wiki

These emails will always have the sender [key]@lsl.secondlife.com where [key] is the asset-ID of the scripted object sending the email (see llGetKey).

now i know that the wording in the wiki isnt 100% correct all of the time but it does say key of the object so i would assume yes both are getting triggered

ouch  - I obviously have missed the subtle difference between prim and object

So in terms of determining what comms (link/chat/email) could be used to commumicate from PRIM A to PRIM X I guess the approach needs to be:
a) cycle through all linked PRIMs to see if it's one of these (i.e. LINK), but if no success
b) can then send email to get objects position hence determine whether CHAT or EMAIL could be choosen

I'll double check on this once the grid is up again :)
