I have a custom (non-looping) animation for an attachment for putting it on and taking it off. Works fine when attaching, nothing happens when detaching. Is there a way to animate on detach, or is this simply impossible because the animation no longer exists once the item has been detached?

I think that's the crux of the problem; the item goes back into inventory as it is detached, and once in inventory it ceases to exist as far as the world and scripts are concerned. The Wiki mentions briefly the fact that script commands may or may not have time to execute before the object goes *poof*
http://www.lslwiki.com/lslwiki/wakka.php?wakka=attach One workaround might be to script a detachment process using llDetachFromAvatar() http://www.lslwiki.com/lslwiki/wakka.php?wakka=llDetachFromAvatar Have the user click the item, or chat a message, which first initiates the animation and *then* detaches the object. |

EDIT: Anti had already answered, but once again it didnt shwo up on my screen until after I posted! Exactly... You could try triggering the animation prior to dettaching, if its dettached by a script rather than by dettach? |
