Scene dressing using a page from a journal

I'm not sure if this is the right forum. My alt has a little laboratory where he is supposedly conducting arcane experiments. I want his notes to be visible to anyone remotely curious.

I thought about leaving an actual book that could be read like a magazine, but these take forever to rez each page and it might need to be too large for the desk. I also considered having visitors touch the journal and generate a blue pop up if that's possible, but also thought that might be annoying.

Now I'm wondering if they should just touch the journal and have it whisper in text. Is this possible and would it too be annoying? I would probably only need a few lines of text about the size of this paragraph so maybe having one page of the journal open magazine style is all that I need. Hand written might be more atmospheric.

How would you handle this? Chat whisper, pop up, texture rez, or something else?

Preload the next two pages on the underside of the book so that when they "turn" the page they will show immediately. You could pick two other faces if you wanted to load the two previous pages also.
