Hi,

i feed an rtps stream into 2nd life, the source looks great, the streaming looks great in quicktime, but in 2nd Life its crap.

What codec should I use for encoding the video? I guess h.264, are there some settings I should be aware of?

And lastly will/could the number of viewers (around 30 on my own island) have an effect on the video quality, im guessing no.

Im hosting an event this thursday, so quick replies will be greatly appreciated..!

Thanks...
Magnus

I'd like to know too... I encoded something in mpeg4 that played fine on my standalone QT player, but leaves the TV screen in SL blank... What is "h.264"?

Can you define "crap"? Is it distorted, bad resolution, etc...

My video is distorted, like somehow its not updating 100%. Im seeing "leftovers" from previous scenes/frames.

h.264 is an encoding codec.

I find encoding to .mov format in h.264 gives the smallest and most SL-manageable filesize
