is there a limit on the number of objects u can keep in ur inventory. i mean many of my objects go missing sometimes. i am not able to see the complete list. sometimes all the latest ones are gone and sometimes the ones which are almost in the middle are missing. what can be the problem ??

Packet loss can hurt your view of your avatar's inventory, this is why people often recommend that you clear your cache and relog when this happens.
Second Life has been switching over from a home-made UDP-based protocol to TCP for this, I forget what viewer version introduced it. but that should improve things.
Object inventories have issues of their own, mainly that they can be very slow to update to the viewer. If a listing gets stalled, it often helps to select a different object, then go back to the one you really want to work on.
Are you seeing any problems like this with scripts? Object inventories usually work pretty well from there.
