Hello all,

What is the normal approuch used to have two scripts communicate with each other when they are on diffrent objects, and could be in diffrent sims? How is life more complicated if one or both of the objects are attachments?

The most basic form you could use to intercommunicate two objects in different simulators would be via E-Mail, you can get into more advanced options like XML-RPC, and HTTPRequests.

E-mail struck me as the best option. As I understand it sending e-mail to attachments gets tricky. I haven't tried it, but from what I've read the ID of the prim changes every time you teleport, and the e-mail address along with it. Any suggestions for getting around that issue?

It's no longer true that the key of the attachment changes with each tp, it's no longer rerezzed.

However, after that it all depends... if you're communicating back to a fixed source then have the attachment send an email to register each time is it rerezzed or reattached. That should do the trick, although building what's essentially a mail server in SL might be a bit slow.

I haven't tested, but doesn't logging in still get you a new key for the attachments?
