I'm interested in having a Guest Book scripted.

The script would allow anyone to talk to it on a channel other than 0

It would format a notecard based on input from me or anyone else i designate including a line for title and a description and include the date

It would listen to chat on the channel and write it to a notecard

It would somehow silently confirm to the typer that it heard the message and thank them

It would allow me and anyone else i designate to retrieve the notecard containing everyone's message.

It would allow me to reset the notecard

It would be mod and formated nicely for me to edit the message greetings approprietly.

I'm sure there are other parameters that make sense for a setup like this that I am just not thinking up right now. Contact me in world if you would like the job :)

More or less everything else is doable. But we can't write to notecards, can't create them etc. The Lindens have said, several times we will never be allowed to do this - it would be a scripting impact on the asset server (writing or editing notecards creates new assets) and they are, quite reasonably, not willing to let us do that.

If you'd accept an alternative version - emailing the notes to you perhaps? - then it ought, more or less be able to be done. I couldn't write the far end of it, but something that parses the messages into a test format that quicktime will display ought to be possible and you could bounce the messages back that way for others to read I think.

is there anyone who can do this without the notecard? I suppose if there was a way to make it spit out the list in chat when we're done i could always copy/paste all the messages from the chat history.

It could e-mail you at the end of the day :)

Strikes me as the easiest solution.
