How old must a freebie script be to be considered too old to use? Like no more than 6 months old? Or even a year?

Just wanted to know if something should be dumped out of my inventory or not.

This is for vehicles.

Thank you!

In what sense do you mean? Software doesn't "rot".

If you're concerned about changes in SL breaking the script... try it. Given the freebie scripts I've seen, you're more likely to run into bugs that were already there than having it broken by new features.

Ancient scripts

I just want to make sure I'm not using scripts that will cause lag and that.

The ship has lost usability in a way since Havok came into play.

Once you're old enough to have acquired the skill and experience to write a script to do the same thing as the freebie.... ;)

The only way to be sure is to try them out. Newer ones are likely to be better, but not all old scripts will stop working.

Well there's other ways a script can get broken besides LL removing a function. Upgrading the physics engine to havok4 had a big effect on a lot of vehicle and weapon scripts. Then there's the addition of NEW functions that would improve older scripts greatly.
