how can i send a private message to an object? i dont want to use /channel in chat. Can the dialog box handle text entry?

Since you ask again a little differently, another idea: a virtual keyboard or input device used with the mouse.

you mean the chat dialog box that speaks on the channels in chat that you don't want to use?

The dialog box can't handle free-typed text.

Though you could make yourself a weird, cumbersome little keyboard with it, where every button is a letter, etc.

But that would be awful.

And you don't want to use private chat channels with the / prefixing it.

Well, you could send the object email I suppose.
