I've searched but wouldnt fully understand the name.

When in third person within second life, it has the ability to have the head/body look at wherever your cursor is. is there a way to stop (lock the position of the mouse or something?) this but still allow the avatar to turn/rotate via the WASD/arrow keys, most importantly have a functioning mouse 1 control.

please help

You could run a high-priority animation to lock the head in place.
