What about setting a long timescale for VEHICLE_LINEAR_MOTOR_DECAY_TIMESCALE, such as 1000.0 or more?

I tried that....sadly I I hear the max is 120 :(, but I have seen the Terra Tachyon SEEM to not have that issue so I THINK it can be done

Yeah, it's true. According to lslWiki, "This decay timescale serves two purposes. First, since it cannot be set longer than 120 seconds, and is always enabled it guarantees that a vehicle will not push itself about forever in the absence of active control (from keyboard commands or some logic loop in the script)." So you can set some logic loop so that you refresh llSetVehicleVectorParam before 120 seconds roll on, can't you?
